CHALLENGE

JAFZA Convention Centre is a grand multipurpose facility located in the heart of new Dubai, JAFZA. The world’s leading free zone, JAFZA has become home to thousands of global businesses achieving phenomenal growth for investors. GFI team collaborated with property developers, Al Habtoor Contracting to design and build flexible interiors within the convention center. Adaptable and efficient space division was key for the client along with controlling the level of noise as the facility would be hosting multiple events simultaneously.

SOLUTION

Gibca worked on various sites throughout the JAFZA Convention Center including in the exhibition center, meeting rooms, function hall, and auditorium. We installed Hufcor operable partitions with varying STC ratings and configurations to suit each room’s unique requirements and purpose.

Hufcor Series 641 panels with specially designed patterns were installed in the exhibition center allowing for efficient space division of a total floor area of 1,500 sq meters. These movable walls give complete flexibility to the client to arrange the room in a variety of configurations for maximizing space usage with a sound-proofing performance of up to 53 STC.

Gibca also installed Hufcor Series 7610 and 7650 in 15 conference and multimedia meeting rooms that are equipped with a full audio-visual support system. By leveraging the flexibility of the operable partitions with the acoustic performance of up to 51 STC, these multimedia rooms can be easily divided to accommodate 15-150 people based on the event.

A 9.6m tall Hufcor operable partitions with an acoustic performance up to 53 STC, Series 641, and 7660 operable walls were installed in a 1,000 sq meters sub-divisible banquet hall. The lavish and stylish hall was designed to be the ideal space for hosting versatile events and thus can be arranged in a variety of configurations to serve this purpose.

Finally, the mammoth auditorium is where we innovatively designed the space by installing 11.6 meters Hufcor Series 641 movable partition with a custom-made acoustic paneling design pattern and a special pass door at the center that was perfectly trimmed to fit in a charming glass stepped staircase. This operable partition allows the space to be divided into two separate venues with a 300-seat capacity each or a grand space of 600 seats. Since sound absorption is critical, the panel installed has been constructed with 53 STC rating performance. This configuration allows for acoustic privacy from any noise occurrence, allowing for events to be hosted simultaneously within the divided space.

Gibca’s Hufcor operable partitions provided an innovative and effective solution for the client to divide the different spaces within the JAFZA Convention Center. Leveraging the features of our operable walls, the client can efficiently transform spaces without compromising on acoustic privacy. Our team works with staff members to demonstrate the safety and easy maintenance of the product so operation becomes hassle-free for everyday use. The finishes and options available allowed us to carve a variety of unique touches to each room including the customization of STC rating based on requirements.
