Back in 2020, the whole world stopped and had no choice but to implement lockdowns and put restrictions. As we adapt to this new norm, this gave birth to the emergence of interior trends focusing on the use of space and furnishings. Last year, vaccines have already been developed and distributed. Humanity is now a step closer to bringing life back to normal. Some restrictions are being lifted and more people are going back to their normal routine but of course, must still adhere to Covid-19 protocols. So how do these new changes affect interior design?

Inspiration from Nature: Basic and Natural Colors

Due to the pandemic situation, many saw the importance of bringing elements of the outdoors inside. This allowed naturalness or biophilic design to flourish even more which will probably still stay as one of the top trends for 2022.

As vaccinations have already been developed, more and more remote workers are coming back to their offices. However, the Covid-19 variants made it impossible for some people to work onsite. Therefore, as many continued to work at home, they opted for more neutral colors which brings comfort, stability, and relaxation. Along with home gardening, these colors combined with wood veneer finishes bring nature inside their space. Aside from it being pleasing to the eyes and bringing calmness, it also helped reduce stress levels which are a common occurrence due to the current pandemic situation.

Flexible Spaces Combined with Privacy

Today, there is a much demand for spaces that are easily transformable. And this has been further proven by pandemic protocols such as isolation and social distancing.

In this case, movable or demountable partitions are the perfect solution you need for a flexible space while still preserving privacy. These can be in solid or glass partitions which can both allow you to transform the room with ease at any given time.
